Tom Osborne Returns

After starting off to a disappointing season the Nebraska Cornhuskers have finally started making changes. As of late last week Tom Osborne was hired as an interm athletic coordinator for the university. As word began to spread about the Osborne’s return life that had began to deflate from the husker nation immediately began to rekindle. During Friday’s Big Red Breakfast Osborne stated that he wouldn’t be able to simply wave a wand and restore the order here but he would indeed start to work to bring the tradition of Big Red Football back to Lincoln. With the experience that Osborne has under the program already no one doubts his ability to bring this program back to the top of its game. With several years of experience and a number of championships under his belt Tom Osborne is more than qualified for this position as well as the people’s favorite. What he will do with the program is still questionable but many hope that he will break it down completely and start from ground zero. With the conditions given however it will more than likely take time to get the program back to its respectable stature where it once stood for so long. I don’t think that there could have been a better person picked for the job not only because of his qualifications, but because of his love for the game and desire to pass the tradition on to future members of the program. Nebraska football is based around tradition and support from all its fans. This past season we have began to get away from that and the heart that was once there winning game after game has long sense ceased to exist. The team just doesn’t seem to have all heart that it takes to get the job done at Big Red standards.
